Here’s the background.

Several weeks ago, I recorded an interview with healing evangelist Bill Subritzky. The point of the interview was to give people the opportunity to hear how he learnt to operate in the ministry of healing and prophecy.

I wanted to know if it was possible, if you had the desire to serve God in a particular way, to train up in that particular gifting. I thought what he had to say on the subject was most profound.

Near the end of the recording, I asked Bill if it was possible to ask God for words of knowledge for listeners, even though it would be weeks before the interview was due to go to air. In fact, it was actually delayed from when it was originally scheduled to play because of the Christchurch earthquakes.

Well, Lynne wrote to me telling me that the interview spoke to her, and not in some vague “someone has a sore left leg” sort of a way. Through a recorded, delayed radio interview, the Holy Spirit of God spoke into some very specific issues Lynne had been seeking him about.

The reason I share this with you is two-fold. Firstly, I had felt compelled to be obedient to God’s leading to record this conversation with Bill Subritzky, even though I must admit that I was concerned about potential skepticism from some listeners. Had I not listened to God’s leading, I believe that Lynne wouldn’t have had the opportunity to hear from God in the way she did.

Secondly, it has reminded me just how awesome the God we serve is; just how much he cares about us and just how much he knows our needs and our situations.

It doesn’t matter what you’re dealing with, God has already seen your needs and he is already answering. He is just waiting for the right time for you to be able to hear and accept it.
