Our Father and Jesus and the Storm are just two out of 12 books in the My Very First Bible Stories series recently released in this small paperback style.

They are ideal for awards or presents from church groups and my son Benjamin recently received Brave David from our local Dance and Play preschool music group for his first birthday gift. Our Father has two pages about Jesus praying and then gives the Lord’s Prayer line by line in bold type with a simpler explanation underneath to help children understand.

The final page is a glossary or “Special Words” with further explanations for words such as bread, heaven and temptation.

Jesus and the Storm tells this Bible story in language suitable for pre-schoolers.

A glossary or “Special Words” is found at the back of the book and also a prayer asking for protection from the “great and stormy sea”.

Alex Ayliffe has illustrated all the books in this series with her familiar paper collage illustrations that are warm and inviting. These are great stories for preschool children.
