What a delightful little book to add to your collection of Christmas presents for the little ones. If you don’t have small children, great for family and friends’ children. I think it would also make a nice little non-threatening gift to slip to non-church family and mates as well.
The book includes six appealing stories that evoke the wonder of Christmas for little angels aged three to five years. It follows in the style set by Prayers for little Angels and Bedtime Stories for Little Angels.
The stories are all drawn from the Bible stories of the Nativity, with a focus on children and, of course, angels:
Mary and the angel; Joseph and the angel; the journey to Bethlehem; the Shepherds and the angels and an endearing story based on the Wise Men’s visit in which a young child gives his gift to the baby Jesus.
The simplicity and child-like wonder of the stories should also appeal to adults reading them out loud.
Dubravka Kolanovic’s pastel illustrations give this picture book a delightful charm, which can be shared with all little angels in the run up to Christmas.
